Porsche VIN Specification
Porsche adopted the ISO-standard 17-character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in 1981. Each VIN uniquely identifies a vehicle's origin, model, year, and production sequence.

Regional Implementation
USA etc. (USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Switzerland) vs. RoW (Rest of World).
For 2010+ North America vehicles, the 10th character uses “A” instead of “9.”
