997.1 Carrera (2005–2008) – M96 3.6L

Note: All 2006–2008 Boxster and Cayman models (987.1) were fitted with the larger, single-row 6305 IMS bearing (non-serviceable).
987.2 Boxster & Cayman (2009–2012) – 9A1 Engine
Models from late 2008 styling revision onward use the 9A1 engine:
- No intermediate shaft or IMS bearing.
911 997.2 Carrera (2009–2012) – 9A1 Engine
Late 997.2 models also use the 9A1 engine:
- No intermediate shaft or IMS bearing.
Always verify IMS type with visual inspection or manufacturer documentation when in doubt.
